A couple of cards

I seem to love using kraft cardstock as my go to for any cards I make. It seems to be easier to work with than white, as it isn't as stark and doesn't compete against the card features that are added.

These 2 cards were made some time ago now, but have been found again while going back through the excessive amount of draft blog posts that I have sitting in blogger.

Both of these cards were easy to pull together and are great as a bit of a stash buster.

Where the event is a birthday and it is a major number, I do like to identify this one the card. The card above uses a scalloped chipboard circle, simply coloured in with a navy blue sharpie marker. The balloons, boat and chevron piece are stickers from a 12x12 paper pack sticker sheet, and the number is a left over red metallic from a years Documenting December kit.

Using a bit of foam tape for texture and a marker to dash the lines around the outside and in the centre, I really like how this one came together so one very special little boy (who isn't so little anymore).

When you have a few diecut packs laying around, a great use for them is cards. Add a scrap of paper from a 6x6 paper pad, a few enamel dots and some foam tape and this card came together super quick.

Its not always easy to transition from 12x12 scrapbooking to cards, but if you can use up some scraps, plus keep it super simple, you will always be happy with the end result.
