I always know that December is a stupidly busy month for us and I know that I always spend every night in the week before Christmas in the kitchen cooking treats and wrapping presents.... So why on earth did I think that doing a December Daily album was a great idea??!!
I'm sure I'm not the only person who has felt this way, and I am not stressing about it at all as I am noting down what each day is and making sure I have the photos to add in later. I just feel that I should be doing a thousand things at once. The best thing about this album though, is that I can come back to it after Christmas and enjoy the process of putting it all together.
I am still not happy with the photos I have taken of the Christmas decorations around our house, so am trying to get a few more done before its too late. But once these are taken and I am happy with them, I will add them to the page for December 2nd. I have used the 'Deck the Halls' chipboard title and coloured it in with a black sharpie. It has then been attached to the outside of the plastic sleeve.
On December 3rd I have added a light wood veneer reindeer to the page.
December 11th we headed to the local 'Carols in the Park'. I have added the light wood veneer 'Merry Christmas, Hope, Joy'. How gorgeous are all of those red sequins?! They are from Studio Fourteen 40.
And December15th was Mission Santa Photo. Oh the joys of being a scrapbookers husband! Its a great thing he is such a great sport!!
I have added a chipboard 'Believe' title and a light wood veneer reindeer, both painted in a light coat of gold paint.
I am loving this album and can't wait for the rush to be over so that I can finish it. Don't forget that all of these Words or Whatever products are available through your local scrap store.
I hope to have a little bit more inspiration to you before Christmas. Thanks for calling past.
These gorgeous little pieces from Words or Whatever in their Christmas release are just amazing. Can you tell I LOVE them?
The moment I received my bag of goodies this month I wanted to play with them so sat down and scrapped a layout. Thats something I havent done for a while!
I love nothing more at Christmas than to take photos of the tree all lit up at night with all of the presents under it. It seems this year these photos may have to wait until I manage to get all of the gift wrapping done!!
Oh Christmas Tree
Using chipboard stockings, chipboard bow, chipboard 'Christmas' from the 'Baby's First Christmas' title and chipboard snowflake.
A close up of the title, stocking and bow. All of these chipboard items have been altered with sharpie markers and gel pens.
The other stocking and snowflake. Both have also been altered with gel pens and sharpie markers, and a little bit of bling to the snowflake.
Are you still scrapping last Christmas? I love the felling of finishing them for another year before the next Christmas hits.
Back again with more December Daily (also slightly unfinished), which I am trying to work on today and get it up to date.
I am loving this project and can understand why people do it every year.
December 7th I have added a paper bag from the packaging in the Studio Calico kit to give me some more room to add more photos and journaling to this one. It was a pretty full on day with a lot of different bits and pieces that I wanted to record.
To decorate the bag I have added a raw light wood veneer deer and a raw dark veneer 'always' from Words or Whatever. To the other page I have added a chipboard bow embossed in red. These pages are far from completed but I am documenting my experience with this project and some photos of each day half done is still achieving this.
December 8th and 9th are still not completed as yet either, but are in progress. I have used the Words or Whatever dark wood veneer 'Christmas' bauble and a couple of small light wood veneer candy canes coloured with bronze gel pen.
Let me know if you are doing December Daily too. Leave me your blog address in the comments as I would love to see what you are doing.
I'm dropping past with a quick Christmas card or gift tag idea. There Words or Whatever items come in both a light and dark wood veneer, but I couldn't help but cover them in gold embossing.
The idea behind this card was found on Pinterest and inspired by Amanda Winkleman.
Its a pretty simple card really. So easy yet effective.
Did you make cards this year? Did you actually send them out? I tend to make them and never get around to sending them!
AARRRRGGGGHHHHHH... Christmas is coming way too fast and I don't think I am going to have enough time to get everything done before the fat man comes!!!! Please tell me that I am not the only one who feels this way!
I did want to stop in and share a couple more pages in my December Daily album using some of the gorgeous Words or Whatever Christmas pieces. I am loving everything I have and cant help by find a way to be using them on just about everything!
December 4th and 5th using the dark wood veneer wreath and the light wood veneer word tree.
On the 6th I have used a medium size light wood veneer candy cane coloured with a bronze gel pen and red sharpie marker. The present on the other page will belong on this page but as you can see, it isn't quiet finished yet! This is on my 'to do' list for this weekend (along with taking some nicer photos).
Are you doing December Daily? Are you keeping up? Will you be buying some Words or Whatever products to scrap your Christmas this year?
This year I am trying my hand at a December Daily album. I thought it best to tackle this task with a pre done kit and there was no way I was going past the Studio Calico kit. I loved just about everything about it and it has made life just that little bit easier pulling the album together.
Armed with the kit, and the gorgeous new Words or Whatever Christmas products, I was away.
For the beautiful embossed chipboard album cover I have painted it with white paint. I have then added the chipboard Star Cluster Banner which I have coated in a gold embossing.
My title page I have kept super simple (which isn't like me and I might add to it or change it if I have time this month but it is doing the job for now). I have used the gorgeous dark wood veneer Christmas Birds and Ornaments (WV083D) and the chipboard 'December Daily' title (WOW2042). The flair button came in the Studio Calico kit. I have used one of the kit papers and added a piece of vellum to the frame area (which is really hard to see in this picture).
After watching Ali Edwards videos for her December Daily inspiration, I thought it best to add this little half page with the calendar and my 'To Do' list for the month.
The calendar 'Dec' is Words or Whatever chipboard Girly Alpha Uppercase (WOW1386), and the chipboard Mini Star Banner (WOW2017) is embossed in green.
December 1st is our day to put up the Christmas tree in our house, and I had some fun snapping these pics of the tree, our newest decoration and the never ending battle that is our tree lights.
The dark wood veneer 'Triming the Tree' title (WV094D) did have the little tree on the end, but as it didn't fit, I cut it off and used it on the journal card. This is the first time I have cut the dark veneer. It is brittle, but easy enough to cut and it worked out really well.
We haven't had tinsel on our Christmas tree since we got together, so this year I decided that it needed it. Plus I had the 'Tinsel fixes everything' card which I thought was very appropriate.
I will be back next week with some more December Daily and other Christmas inspiration for the Words or Whatever Christmas release. Don't forget that the WOW blog has new inspiration everyday for the month of December, so make sure you take a few minutes to head over and check it out too.
I'm back again with another couple of pages from my USA Holiday capture album. I love how this album made with pocket pages along with cardstock pieces in full size and different pattern and size inserts. It is super fun to work with and embellish.
I have been mainly sticking to the Basic Grey items that belong with this series, due to the colours more than anything else, but they do make it much easier to work with and most of the little cards are already the correct sizes for the pocket pages.
Usually from a holiday like this you have plenty of stories to tell and the way this album is set out there is ample amount of space to get this information down (as you can see with mine - so many stories and I am super wordy as I never want to leave out a single detail)!
I am loving my Canon Selphy C900 printer with this project. This way I don't need to organise ALL of my photos and work out in advance how many I need and in what sizes. I can just focus on one event, page or day and work with a small amount of photos and decide the sizes to print them as I go. My printer would have to be my buy of the year when it comes to my scrap world.
I will be back again this week with the first of my Words or Whatever December shares. I am so excited about all of the gorgeous new release items for Christmas and am having so much fun playing with them all.
Thanks for calling past xx
