True XOXO "Olympic" Challenge - August 2012
7:25 AMNow that the Olympics are over and done with for another 4 years, we saw so many memorable moments that will never be forgotten. The top of my list would have to be Usan Bolt. What a character and such an amazing athlete. I didnt get into it for the first week, but come week two and I was hooked.
Over at True XOXO Scrapbooking the August Challenge was set and its simple - be inspired by the Olympics. It could be the colour of the rings, the shape of circles, sports photos?? How does the Olympic inspire you?
My Olympic inspiration was a trip to Sydney Olympic Park. I have been up there so many times since the 2000 Olympics, but never had the chance just to wander around. Some things haven't changed, and some amazing memories from those games have been placed on display for all to see.
"So, I have kept it simple again this month. I have drawn my Olympic inspiration from the colours of the Union Jack - Red, Blue and White. These also happen to be the Colours of the Australian Flag, where the photo inspiration comes from. The photo was taken at Sydney Olympic Park (the home of the 2000 Olympics). In the background is the cauldron that sat sharing the Olympic Flame with us all for the duration of the Sydney Olympics. It has been turned into a beautiful water feature for all to see and remember such a wonderful time"
I love that the cauldron that Cathy Freeman lit in front of the world has been turned into a water feature and around the base are all of the names of every medal winner in every event. Its a special little spot in such a huge place, but one that we were really glad to find.
As always the girls have put up some amazing inspiration in so many styles for you about their own Olympic inspirations. Head over and check them out. And if you have time to play along, I would love to see some entries from other fellow Aussies this month.
