Savvy Colour Challenge

As we draw to the end of another month, there is still a couple of days left to get your layouts uploaded to the Savvy gallery for their monthly challenges.

I have finally found time and a bit of inspiration to have a go at Sara's Colour Challenge. The colour selection for November was Blue, Green, Pink & White.

I must admit, the was very unsure of this colour combination, and had no idea what I was going to use or even if I had a photo that would work. I finally found one that fits well with the combo, and that old She's Savvy kit that I seem to have held onto for a rainy day has again found its way to the surface!!!

Here is my take on the challenge:

This is one of my favourite single visions at Patong Beach, Thailand. I find it a beautiful reminder of traditional Thai in the mad rush of the Western tourist invasion!!!

I am also playing along this weekend at the Savvy Cybercrop, so will be back soon with more layouts to share!

Tell the truth...have you scrapped ALL your christmas photos from last year?! I bet you haven't.

So this month at Scrapbook Savvy we are cybercropping CHRISTMAS with the aim to have those Xmas 2009 photos scrapped and in albums before Xmas 2010 rolls around in four weeks time.

We'll be playing from Friday 26 November with nearly a week till deadline at midnight Thursday 2 December.

Friendship

I have just been over having a read of Sars blog about friendship and it got me thinking how special some of the people in my life are to me.

There are the obvious friends in family, in some way or another.

There is my gorgeous man, who is my best friend and even on days when we don't see eye to eye, I love him with all my heart.

I even have cyber friends these days!!!

Then there is that other type of friend. The one that is there for you no matter what time of day it is, will listen to you talk and talk and talk even though they have no idea who or what you are talking about, will tell you the truth even when they know you don't want to hear it, be a shoulder to cry on, and be there to support you when you just need a friend.

I am one of the luckiest people in the world because I have one of these friends. Kate and I have only know each other for a couple of years now, but it seems like a life time. We don't need to talk every day to know that the other is there if we need them. But when I need someone to talk to Kate is always at the end of the email, text message or phone.

I really think it is important to make sure at every point in your life you have one friend like Kate. A friend for life.....

Now this brings me to the scrappy part of the blog!!! This is my take on the Stuck Sketch for 15th November, using an old She's Savvy kit (finally). I don't seem to do girly pages well, but I love this one!!

This one is all about Kate's Shower... Before Kate met her fiance, we used to joke about Kate having a "Kate Shower" as all she seemed to be doing was buying presents for everyone else getting married, having kids, getting engaged, house warming etc. Kate decided that it was time for her to just have a shower were people could bring her presents!!! When it came to her baby shower, I talked Kate into calling it a "Kate Shower" and it stuck...

PS. For those interested on how much money was raised on the weekend at the i98fm Camp Quality Convoy for Kids..... $450k and there is still possibly more to come in!!!! Talk about an awesome effort...

Stress Free Monday!!!

Well, what a week!!! So much to do, so little time, high stress levels with everything going on at this time of year, then you come to the i98FM Camp Quality Convoy for Kids, and everything is worth the efforts!!! Just to see one of those sick children with a smile is amazing, but the community support that makes it what it is, is even more overwhelming.

Over 700 trucks and just under 700 motor bikes this year sees another record on the day, but the record that really counts is the money raised for these children and their families. We have already see the $1 Million mark hit this year (number 6), even before a truck engine was turned on on the day, all of which goes to our local Camp Quality branch to put smiles on our childrens faces. I could never imagine living with such an insidious disease yet these children just take it in their stride. If you are ever lucky enough to listen to one of these precious little hero's, you will understand what positive thinking is really all about.

It is such an emotional day with an amazing community which we are so very proud to be a part of. Here are a couple of pics from the day.

Time Flys

Where has this week gone?? Next thing you know we are a week closer to Christmas for another year!!! Thank goodness I am getting closer to finishing the relevant present shopping...

A quick page catch up, as there is nothing out of the ordinary happening in my life at the moment, besides preparation for next Sundays i98 Convoy for Kids!!!

I just love how this page worked.

Daily Routine is one for the holiday album. This is using last months We're Savvy Kit. These kits are just amazing every month.

The EK Success Bubbles punch is a new favourite. I would use it on every page if I had the chance!!!

I am heading to the Christmas Card class at Scrapbooking Delights this afternoon, which will be my first ever class, and I am looking forward to it...

Stuck Sketches

Another month, another sketch challenge... Over at Stuck Sketches, the next sketch was release on November 1st... Being hooked on sketches at the moment, you just couldn't ask for anything better to get the mojo flowing!! They are left open to so much personal interpretation, you can call them your own.

For $25, this kit is just awesome (as always girls)... It was the perfect way to document such an important time in my gorgeous partners life, with his best mates!!!

Kates Shower

Well after many hours of organisation (by Kate & Ronai), we had Kates Baby Shower today. With many friends and family around, it made for a wonderful afternoon for Kate. There are still bets on for what sex BOJ will be... Boy or Girl? I think Kate is just about set for either!!!

This is the card that I made for Kate & Ronnie. Using American Crafts Dear Lizzy papers and AC alphas, a piece of ribbon, Oh and the baby (thanks San), I think it came together well!!!
